Mocean Energy is seeking to hire a graduate numerical modeller to assist in our wave energy converter (WEC) numerical modelling and design activities.
Mocean Energy is a start-up WEC developer founded in 2015 and based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Our core technology is a hinged raft WEC with a novel geometry that increases energy production by a factor of 3 compared to conventional designs. Assist in our development of a new WEC design for a novel high-growth market, funded and scoped under a 1-year project. Assist in the design of a novel WEC
Masters. Physics, mathematics, science, engineering. (Required)
PhD. Ocean engineering. Naval architecture. Wave theory. (Preferred)
Engineering or software development. (Preferred)
Experience with modelling physical systems (Required)
WAMIT or similar. (Preferred)
Experience with object-oriented programming (Required)
MATLAB, Simulink, C#, Git. (Preferred)
Familiarity with CAD (Required)
Fluency in English (Required)
Experience writing reports or papers. (Preferred)
